Hello friends and happy Sunday to you! I hope you are doing fun things this weekend. As for me, I'm striving for a lazy bum in my pj's kinda day today because it's ridiculously cold and raining outside, and, it's a nice break from the past two insanely busy weekends.
I'd like to get in my craft room for a while, but, I'm also not setting myself up for disappointment if I don't.
Sometimes you just gotta take a break and hit reset. It's good for the body and soul.
Okay, let's talk about today's card. Initially when I saw this You're Pretty stamp set by Neat & Tangled, I didn't really care for it. I thought the expression "you're pretty" on its own was very vain and narcissistic. But, when you add some of the subtext stamps to it, like "pretty brave," "pretty awesome", and "pretty strong" it actually delivers a very inspiring message. Now that I like.

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Whisper White cardstock. On a 5" x 3 3/4" sheet of Yupo paper I created the ombre background by dropping various colors of pink and magenta Ranger Adirondack alcohol inks and blowing the inks around with a drinking straw. (See more on this alcohol ink technique here. ) I also added drops of silver metallic mixative for added sparkle. Once this background dried, I adhered the Yupo paper to a 5 1/4" x 4" sheet of Melon Mambo cardstock.
I stamped the large "You're Pretty" sentiment on Blushing Bride cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I used the You're Pretty coordinating die to cut the sentiment out. I also die cut the same sentiment from Melon Mambo cardstock and layered it behind. I adhered the sentiment to the center of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped the "pretty kind" sentiment on a scrap of Melon Mambo cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I notched the left side before adhering it to the card. Lastly, I added some sequins in varying sizes of pink and silver.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
