Hi there! I'm glad you stopped by today because I have a bright and fun birthday card to share with you today that all came together by happy accident! Does anyone else have a "bits box?" It's like a never ending supply of random odds and ends from various cards that you didn't use. And instead of dwindling over time it just grows, and grows, and grows.
It's kind of like a gremlin, you feed it after midnight and it multiplies!
Well, my bits box was getting overwhelming and I decided to chuck it. I know, I know, recyclers of the world are all
contemplating my slow and painful demise with that admission. But, before 3-pointing it into the rubbish, I grabbed all the balloons and made a gazillion birthday cards so that I didn't feel so bad. Technically speaking I did "re-use" it.
*Full supply list at end of post.
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Whisper White cardstock. Using the Gina Marie Stitched Scalloped Rectangle border dies I cut the largest rectangle from Basic Black cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment in the center of the card using white embossing powder. I stamped the word "YAY" in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on green, pink and purple paper and then paper pieced the three letter together to form one multicolor word. I grabbed pre-punched balloons from my bits box and put a coat of Clear Wink of Stella on them before adding them to the bottom of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. Using a white gel pen, I added a reflection on the corner of each balloons for added dimension.
Today's card was inspired by the color challenge at The Paper Players:
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
