Hello readers and happy Wednesday to you! We are gearing up for yet another snowstorm today here in Massachusetts. This makes it four official nor'easters in just as many weeks. 'Cause nothing says it's the second day of spring like 6-12" MORE inches of snow.
Ugh. Double ugh.
The only reason NOT to complain is that occasionally I am blessed with a snow day from work (or even just a few hours thanks to an early release) and I get to spend unexpected time in my craft room, which is always awesome!
Today I have created a card for you featuring the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper. This DSP is found in the 2018 Spring Occasions catalog and I don't know why I haven't used it before now! This paper is perfect for creating masculine cards - which is probably exactly what I said when I bought it three months ago! With Father's Day coming up (eventually) you NEED this paper.
I love the rich Night of Navy color and how fun are those bowties!?
*Full supply list with links at end of post.
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Night of Navy cardstock. For the first matted layer, I cut a 5 3/8" x 4 1/4" sheet of True Gentleman DSP. I cut a 3" x 4" sheet of the bowtie patterned paper from the same True Gentleman DSP series and adhered that to a solid sheet of Soft Suede cardstock. I wrapped Linen Thread about both of these pieces three times before mounting them on a sheet of Very Vanilla cardstock. I die cut a small circle from Night of Navy cardstock using the Layering Circles framelit dies. On a small scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the shoes in Night of Navy ink and fussy cut them out. I adhered the shoes to the circle using Stampin' Dimensionals. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment (from the Guy Greetings stamp set) onto a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out notching both ends before adhering it to the card front.
My card was inspired by the layout challenge at Global Design Project this week:
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
