Hello readers and happy Wednesday to you! Did you see yesterday's post featuring the all new 2018-2019 annual catalog? There are so many beautiful new stamp sets and dies, coordinating Designer Series Papers and gorgeous embossing folders. My wish list is growing by the minute and I think I'm going to have to get a third job to pay for my second job!
Today I have made two cards featuring one of these new stamp sets called "Rooted in Nature" and its coordinating DSP called "Nature's Poem." I'm not going to lie, this new bundle (stamp set and coordinating die) is on the pricey side at $72.
Do you need it? Probably not. But, do you LOVE it? Duh.
As my Aunt Momo always says, "the only time I say no is when the bartender asks if I've had enough!"
Words to live by my friends.
*Full supply list at end of post. Both cards were created using the same layout just different colors and DSP patterns.
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Mint Macaron cardstock. I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" sheet of Nature's Poem DSP and adhered it to the card base. Using the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Scalloped Rectangle dies, I cut a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock. Next I cut a sheet of Whisper White cardstock from the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Scalloped dies that would nest inside the larger rectangle. On this sheet of Whisper White cardstock first I stamped the sentiment in Mint Macaron ink. In the lower right corner I stamped the large circular tree ring in Sahara Sand ink. I stamped one of the leaves from the Rooted in Nature stamp set in Mint Macaron ink on Whisper White cardstock. Using the leaf punch, I punched out one leaf from Gold Glimmer Paper.
I also heat embossed the largest leaf in White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Blackberry Bliss cardstock and die cut it out using the coordinating die. I adhere the three leaves together and attached them on top of the large stamped tree ring using Stampin' Dimensionals. I wrapped a piece of Mint Macaron twine around the two layers before adhering them both to the center of the card. I tied a bow using the Mint Macaron twine and adhered it to the leaves using Glue Dots. Lastly I added a couple Faceted Dots for added texture and dimension.
I hope today's cards inspire YOU! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
