Let's talk retirement. . . No, not me, I promise! I'm having way too much fun to retire
at 29 (wink wink)! I'm talking about how every April Stampin' Up! announces it's annual
"Retirement List." Every single year this happens. There has not yet been an exception. Without a doubt, each April some of your favorite stamps will retire.
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, adieu!
And, even if your favorite stamp set doesn't retire this year, eventually, one day it will be up for the cut. In order to make room for great new things, Stampin' Up! (like all other companies) must clear out the old. It's a harsh world my friends.
Even after the Retirement List each year, my customers will still ask me,
"Can I still get such and such stamp?" Well, sure you can. . . *eBay is a gold diggers paradise for so-called "rare" Stampin' Up! stamp sets. And, no, I'm not kidding! Let's take a look at some retired items that I found there:
Awwww, I know, right? The cutest little chocolate Easter bunny! So, you didn't buy him back in 2012 when he was only $7.95?
What do you think about paying $37.99 now for one single stamp?
Not so cute now, is he?
Super cool antique convertibles! Perfect for those masculine cards. This is probably the stamp set most people ask to borrow from me. I can't remember which year these came out, but, they were in the $24 range. . .
How super cool does $89.99 now?
Ahhh, beautiful creatures of the deep blue sea. . .
For $199 now on eBay, they can stay in that sea!
So, if you're not quite ready to raid your children's college education fund or possibly sell your liver, kidney or heart on the black market, you will want to buy some of your favorites BEFORE they retire.
Please join me on Friday, April 22, for some last chance shopping,
make-n-takes, games and more as we celebrate retirement together!
