Hello friends and happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. We were in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, for the annual Christmas Candlelight Stroll and it was so festive and fun! If you're lucky enough to live in New England, I'd really encourage you to check this holiday event out.
LastFriday I shared two holiday themed cards featuring alcohol ink backgrounds and today I'm sharing two more cards that also have alcohol ink backgrounds as the focus. A few months ago I spent nearly an entire day in my craft room just creating a bunch of backgrounds to use for future cards and it's about time I use them! Once you get past the messiness and perpetually stained fingers, these inks are a lot of fun! To read more about how I create my alcohol ink backgrounds on Yupo paper, please click here.
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Tempting Turquoise (retired) cardstock. I created the frame using Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and the Scalloped Stitched Nesting Rectangle Dies from Gina Marie Designs. I stamped the carousel images in Versamark ink on Tempting Turquoise cardstock and heat embossed them in white embossing powder. I die cut the images using the coordinating dies. For the background I used White Yupo Paper and the following Tim Holtz Adirondack alcohol ink colors: Turquoise, Mermaid and Aquamarine. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment "magical" in Tempting Turquoise ink (also retired) on Neenah Solar White cardstock and fishtailed both ends before adhering with foam dimensionals.
The second card I created using the same Ornate Carousel stamp set has a Melon Mambocardstock base. I also heat embossed the carousel in white embossing powder on Melon Mambo cardstock. To create the background, I used the following Tim Holtz Adirondack alcohol ink colors: Watermelon, Salmon, Flamingo and Raspberry.
Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
