Hello crafty people and happy Tuesday! Today I'm sharing a card with you that I sent to my mom last week after she had total knee replacement surgery. I had to design a card specifically for her that tailored to her recovery and her love of cats, so Newton's Sick Day by Newton's Nook Designs was a perfect set to use!
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. The pink plaid background paper is from Lawn Fawn's Gotta Have Gingham paper pack. I die cut the triple frame from Crumb Cake cardstock. Sorry, I can't recall the source of this die cut, but I think it's by My Favorite Things. I stamped all the images from the Newton's Sick Day on Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock using Memento Tuxedo black ink and I colored them in using Spectrum Noir alcohol ink markers. I also used a Uniball White Gel pen to add highlights. I adhered all the images to the cards using Stampin' Dimensionals for added height. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo black ink. Lastly I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the prescription bottles to give them a glossy hard coating.
About Newton's Nook Designs:
Newton's Nook Designs is made up of a husband and wife team located in Southern Wisconsin. Their goal is to provide you with unique and whimsical stamp designs that are fun to use and make you smile!
Jen has always loved to draw and create! About 15 years ago she discovered stamping and card-making and fell in love! Since she first started stamping she has always wanted to create her own stamp designs and is excited to see her visions come to life! All of our stamps are illustrated by Jen. They begin as hand-drawn pencil sketches which she then creates into the digital files that eventually become those cute stamps you love!
Jeff does all the behind the scenes essentials! He answers your questions, ships your orders and keeps everything running smoothly! He has even become a bit of a creative director, giving advice on stamp designs and helping to let Jen know when something doesn't look right!
Where did the name come from?
Newton is their adorable sweet orange tabby cat and the inspiration for the company name and logo. One of the first stamp designs that Jen sketched was a kitty - just like Newton - so they thought it was fitting that he be the namesake of the company. You can find out more about Newton on his page here.
