Hello readers and happy Sunday! I hope you are all having a great weekend so far! Yesterday, myself and six other area demonstrators attended a day-long event in Hartford, Connecticut, sponsored by Stampin' UP! called "OnStage Local." This is an annual event held around the world where demonstrators get together for one day to learn business tips, accept awards, network, meet new
friends and create with NEW products. Thanks to it's convenient proximity this year, it was my first time being able to attend
and I'll be sharing all the fun details with you early next week.
*We have a spoiler alert policy (due to the different time zones) that we aren't allowed to share anything from
this event until Monday, April 9th, at 1:00 PM (MST).
Now on to today's fun card! Last month I taught two classes using alcohol inks and I had a lot of sample background pieces leftover from class demonstrations. I put these pieces (all created on Yupo paper) in a "to-do tray" on my craft desk hoping to be inspired to use them sooner rather than later. Because we all know what happens to later. . . Later = never! I thought this particular alcohol ink background was well suited for a galaxy or space themed card, and, since I hadn't yet used this Space Explorer stamp set by My Favorite Things,
it was a match made in heaven. Or outerspace, anyway!
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Whisper White cardstock. I created the background on a 5" x 3 3/4" sheet of Yupo paper using a variety of blue Ranger Adirondack alcohol inks. I dropped the inks on one side of the paper and held it up so the ink would run down in streaks or lines. Once the background was dry I mounted the Yupo paper on a 5" 1/4" x 4" sheet of Night of Navy cardstock. I cut the clouds out of Whisper White cardstock and Basic Gray cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Cloudy Hillside Pop Up Add-on. The sentiment was stamped on the lower right white cloud using Night of Navy ink. I stamped the images from the Space Explorer set by My Favorite Things in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored them using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink markers. Once the images were die cut, I adhered them to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
