Would you hate me if I told you I was 100% finished with this year's Christmas shopping? Sorry, that is an entirely true statement! I AM done. All of it! Yup, even those little stocking stuffers too! I just find the holiday season to be so chaotic and stressful that I have made it more relaxing and enjoyable for myself by shopping early. Typically I am done shopping by Thanksgiving and we wrap on Black Friday, but, this year I am done before Halloween! (Insert happy dance here.)
I'm also sorta afraid to tell you that, yes, even my Christmas cards are done too! I wimped out this year and I designed them through Shutterfly using a family photo taken last Christmas during a huge snowstorm in Maine. Because I ordered them way back in January I was also able to take advantage of Shutterfly's post-Christmas 75% off sale!
I know, I know. You're highly disappointed that Super Stamp Girl isn't so super stamp-y after all! ; )
But, this doesn't mean that I won't still be making and sharing Christmas cards to inspire YOU, like today's interactive card featuring Santa's Elves by My Favorite Things and a Magic Color Sliding window by Lawn Fawn!
Here is a photo of the card with the magic color sliding tab pushed all the way in showing a black and white elf image:
*See the video below for instruction on how to create the Magic Color Sliding window portion.
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Real Red cardstock. The first matted layer is a 5 1/4" x 4" sheet of plaid patterned paper. All images were stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. A Uniball White Gel pen was used to highlight some of the coloring. All images were adhered to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals for added height. Lawn Fawn Prismaglitter was added to the white of the stocking and the star on the tree for some sparkle.
Here is a photo of the card with the magic color slider pulled out the way out to reveal the colored elf image:
Because I have not dived into video tutorials yet, here is the Magic Color Slider intro video from Lawn Fawn:
I hope you have enjoyed today's card! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
