Hello readers and TGIF! Happy loooooong holiday weekend Friday! YAY! Since Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end to summer, I'm sharing a fun ocean themed shaker card today made using the Hero Arts "Seas the Day" stamp set. I debated about turning this card into a shaker card and I'm so glad that I did because I love how this card turned out! I'm one of those people that likes the ocean from afar - like on a cruise ship or watching HGTV's "Beachfront Bargain Hunt!" I hate the feeling of salt in my hair and on my skin, and don't even get me started on the idea of sand e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e! Ugh, drives me crazy bonkers! I am definitely more of a lake/freshwater kind of girl. Plus, no sharks!

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Crumb Cake cardstock. The first layer of this card is made from Real Red cardstock that was cut using the Scalloped Stitched Nesting Rectangle dies by Gina Marie Designs. On the 5" x 3 3/" sheet of Whisper White cardstock, I die cut a circle in the middle for the shaker component. I lined the back of the circle with Acetate Window sheets. On a separate sheet of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped all of the images (seagulls, clouds, fish, seashells) in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and die cut them using the coordinating Seas the Day dies. Next I colored in all the images using my Spectrum Noir alcohol ink markers.
I die cut the waves using the Waves Border Dies by Simon Says Stamp out of Balmy Blue cardstock. I adhered the waves directly to the background and added the blue sequins on top before adhering the Whisper White layer on top. On the lower right side of the Whisper White sheet of cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink. Once all the images were colored I adhered them to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Thanks for visiting and have a great end-of-summer weekend!
