Hello friends and happy Monday to you! I hope you all had a warm and cozy weekend! I never left my house once (yup, that was the plan!) and I spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace snuggling with the kitties!
I'm still not sure who was keeping whom warm!
Today I am participating for my first time with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. Their theme is "something new." And, there's a whole lot of new something(s) in my craft room! I chose to work with the Hero Arts Color Layering Baby Penguin.
After all, it is THE perfect weather here in Massachusetts right now. . . IF you are a penguin!

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Basic Black cardstock. I cut a piece of Silver Glimmer paper to 5 1/2" x 1 1/4", notched both ends and adhered it directly on top of the card base. Next I cut a 5" x 3 3/4" sheet of black snowflake paper (source unknown) and matted it to a piece of Basic Gray cardstock. Using the Stitched Mountains Borders from Lawn Fawn, I cut the mountains from Smoky Slate cardstock. The mountain tops were cut from Dazzling Diamonds paper. Using the Stitched Hillside dies from Lawn Fawn, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to form the snowbank. Using Elizabeth Crafts Ultrafine glitter, I created a small line of glitter on the top of the snowbank (just below the mountains). With Tuxedo Memento Black ink, I stamped the sentiment on the lower left corner.
On a separate sheet of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the Hero Arts Color Layering Baby Penguin in three layers. The first layer was done in Smoky Slate, the next in Basic Grey and the top detail layer of the penguin was in Tuxedo Memento Black. Using the coordinating die, I cut the penguin out and attached it to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
This card was inspired by the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge of "something new:"
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
