Hi friends and TGIF! I hope you have great things planned for the weekend ahead! If you recall, yesterday I shared this card with you featuring the Geology Rocks stamp set from Heffy Doodle, and, today I am sharing another entirely different card made using the same stamp set! When one stamp set is able to create a variety of looks it expands your crafting options and it is much more cost effective. Bonus!
When I first saw this volcano image, I knew that I wanted to create an intense alcohol ink background filled with reds and oranges to generate the feel of heat and fire. I used Tim Holtz Ranger alcohol inks in Watermelon, Valencia and Lemonade dropped on a 4 x 4" sheet of Yupo paper. To read more about how I create my alcohol ink backgrounds, please click here.
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Using the Scalloped Stitched Nesting Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs, I cut the first matted layer from Real Red cardstock. Next I cut a 5" x 3 3/4" sheet of Neenah Solar White cardstock and die cut a large circular hole in the middle for the alcohol ink background. On the lower right corner of this cardstock I also stamped the sentiment "have a blast" in Real Red ink. I ran this sheet of cardstock through my big Shot using the Subtle Dynamic Texturized Embossing Folder. I stamped the volcano in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and colored it in with Spectrum Noir alcohol ink markers. I added highlights to the volcano with a Uniball White Gel pen. I stamped the lava steam in Real Red ink. I adhered both the volcano and steam to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals for added height. Lastly, I added a coat ofNuvo Crystal Glaze to the volcano for a glossy shine.

I hope you're in "lava" with today's card! ; )
Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
*A big thanks to Heffy Doodle for providing me with the stamps to create this card.
