Hello my friends and happy Monday! It seems like forever since I last posted a card on here, and, in reality that is very accurate! Things have been very busy lately and I have not had a lot of free time in my craft room. The past two weekends I have been traveling, and then there was that kidney infection that set me back a few days. But, I have also been trying very hard to put less pressure on myself to make cards and get blog posts written. I have finally realized the world will still go on without me!
Today's card was inspired by the Global Design Project's CASE challenge.
I was inspired by the layout in GDP designer Charlet Mallet's card (see fourth image below):
*Full supply list at end of post.
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Tranquil Tide cardstock. I cut a sheet of 5 1/4 x 4" Whisper White cardstock and adhered it directly to the card base. I cut a 5 1/4" x 2' strip of Tranquil Textures DSP and adhered it to the right side of the card. I cut an additional 4 1/2" x 2" sheet of the same Tranquil Textures DSP and notched the bottom end before adhere it to the center of the card. I ran a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock through my Big Shot using the net die and adhered the net to the center of the card. Using Tranquil Tide ink, I stamped the octopus on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating die. I stamped the sentiment in Tranquil Tide ink on a thin strip of Whisper White cardstock and notched both ends before adhering it to the card. Lastly I placed a couple sequins for added sparkle randomly on the card and a coat of clear Wink of Stella on the octopus for sparkly shine.
Here is the challenge banner from Global Design Project that inspired my card:
