Friday Mashup

It's a double post day today as I was able to spend so much crafting time in my room this weekend.  Well, when I wasn't doing the yardwork anyway. . . Do weeds ever stop growing?

I am SUPER excited to share with you my card for the Friday Mashup "Back to Shool" theme!

No, really.  I'm THAT excited!

I was as giddy as a schoolgirl (pun intended) when this card was finished.  It came out even better than I had envisioned in my head.  Don't you love it when that happens!?

Here's the Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project with " a School theme".
  • Create a project with "Your School Colors".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a "School themed project with your school's colors".

Boy, did I go back!  Skipping those college days and all the way back to my years at Dexter Regional High School in Dexter, Maine.  Never heard of that small town in nowhere Maine?  Trust me, you're not alone!  How about Dexter Shoes?  Yup, that's where they were (once) made.  Home to the Dexter Tigers, here is my tribute to the school colors of red, black and white:

Yes, you are looking at the new stamp set called "In This Together" (seen below).

I did make a few modifications to the stamp though, did you see them?

    1.  The "teacher's" dress needed to be a little more school appropriate, so I lengthened the sleeves and heightened the neckline with the help of a basic black marker.
    2.  Some believe that wine is not appropriate for school (who are you people?!), so I replaced the bubbly with an apple!

So much fun!  I'm loving this card!  Tell me what YOU think!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a S-U-P-E-R day!

Love your changes to the teacher's dress. Great way to adapt a stamp. And those letter blocks are adorable. Thanks for joining the Friday Mashup this week.

Crystal, Way to Mash It Up with your Dexter School Colors! Love the way you adapted the stylish girl stamp with neat elements like the Wainscoting and blackboard! The Hardwood is a great addition as well. Thanks for playing along with my challenge at the Friday Mashup this week:)
