I am really excited to share with you today's card for the Paper Players challenge because it's all about recycling! But, I'll also be letting you all in on a little secret of mine. . .
Anne Marie's challenge was to create a project using a recycled or re-purposed item. What a great idea!
Now here's my little secret. . .
I do this ALL the time! I'm so lucky in that I receive many handmade cards and while I'd love to keep every single one of them, it's really just not plausible. So, I re-purpose, re-use and re-send NEW cards made from OLD cards! Of course, I have to add my own twist to them and make them my own. Check out the two images below (marked before and after):
I actually took components from two beautiful birthday cards I received last year from Karla and Karen, and recycled them to "pay it forward!" So, not only did I get to enjoy them, but now, someone else will too! "Upcycling" is the fancy schmancy term!
I do the same thing with all of my Christmas cards. I repurpose them into gift tags, new cards and I've even laminated some and made them into placemats! Thanks Pinterest!
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a S-U-P-E-R day!
