Today I have created a masculine birthday card, because I am in short supply and I need to rebuild my stash of what I call "manly man" cards. I hear frequently that many people struggle with making masculine cards, as do I at times. So, I will try and create more to share with you here.
The base of this A2 sized card was made from Night of Navy cardstock. Using the Scalloped Stitched Nesting Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs, I cut the largest rectangle from Whisper White cardstock. On the lower right corner of this sheet, I stamped the sentiment using Night of Navy ink. The sentiment and hot air balloons can all be found in the Lift Me Up stamp set (with coordinating Up, Up and Away dies) from Stampin' UP! I stamped three balloons in Lemon Lime Twist ink, Smoky Slate ink and Night of Navy ink.
I created the largest balloon using Night of Navy cardstock and adhered die cut strips of Lemon Lime Twist and Smoky Slate cardstock behind the intricate die. I adhered all the balloons to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals for added height. Lastly, I added a double coat of Clear Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to the balloons.
Here is a close-up of the balloons so you can see the sparkle from the Clear Wink of Stella:
Don't forget to decorate the inside of your card too!
I hope today's card will inspire you to create some masculine cards for the special men in your life.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
