Hello and welcome to Day 3 of my new catalog SNEAK PEEK! On Monday I shared with you a fun rainbow set of mini thank you cards created by using the new 2018-2020 In Colors. And, yesterday I shared two cards I designed from the Love What You Do stamp set and Share What You Love DSP.
And boy do I L-O-V-E love that paper! Not so sure about the "sharing" it part though!
Today, we are taking a look at another new stamp set called Sea of Textures and coordinating Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper. I love anything ocean themed and I was very excited about this stamp set because how cute is that saying, "thanks for reaching out" combined with an octopus! Love it! I will admit that I'm not really excited about the DSP designed to coordinate with it though - the patterns are just too irregular for my own personal taste. The benefit to double sided paper is that if one side is a bit too much of a walk on the wild side for ya, the other side is usually playing it safe!
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Whisper White cardstock. To create the background, I used Aqua Painters to lightly add Bermuda Bay and Tempting Turqoise ink to a 5" x 3 3/4" sheet of watercolor paper. In order to speed things up, I dried the watercolor paper with my heat tool so that I could adhere it to a sheet of Bermuda Bay cardstock before adhering it to the card base. I die cut the netting from the Tranquil Textures DSP and adhered it in the lower right corner. I stamped the sentiment in Tempting Turquoise ink on a scrap of vellum and die cut it out using Layering Circle framelits. I stamped the coral in Bermuda Bay ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut them out with the coordinating die. To create the watercolored octopus, I inked my stamp directly using both Tempting Turquoise and Bermuda Bay markers, then I lightly spritzed the stamp with water before stamping the image on regular Whisper White cardstock. I adhered the octopus with Stampin' Dimensionals and lastly added a few rhinestone basic jewels for added sparkle.
Here is the second card I created using the same Sea of Textures stamp set and Tranquil Textures DSP:
