Hello readers and happy Wednesday to you! Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by the monotone color challenge at SUO Challenges this week. I used the Rose Wonder stamp set and coordinating framelits to make this sympathy card, but, it just as easily could have been a Valentine's Day card by simply altering the sentiment. Need a get well soon card? Use pink or yellow roses instead! The options are truly endless.
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Real Red cardstock. I cut a sheet of Whisper White cardstock to 5 1/4" x 4" and ran it through the Layered Leaves Dynamic Texturized Embossing Folder. Using Real Red cardstock, I ran the rose die from the Rose Garden thinlit dies through three times. With the help of the big Shot Die Brush I poked out all the little pieces from two of the roses but kept one of the roses fully intact. I adhered the two rose outlines with Fine Tip Glue. I adhered the solid rose onto the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink and cut it out using the coordinating die. I adhered some Whisper White Baker's Twine underneath the sentiment and adhered the sentiment using Stampin' Dimensionals. Lastly, I added lots of Clear Wink of Stella to the solid rose. (It does not photograph well here, it looks much prettier in person!) In hindsight, I might have used a couple dots of the retired Crystal Effects to make it look like water droplets on the rose instead of the Wink of Stella.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
