This past Saturday, myself and five other area demonstrators attended a day-long event in Hartford, Connecticut, sponsored by Stampin' UP! called "OnStage Local." This is an annual event held around the world where demonstrators get together for one day to learn business tips, accept awards, network, meet new friends and create with new products. Thanks to it's convenient proximity this year in Hartford, I was able to attend this event for my first time. Today I'm sharing all the fun details with you!
It was estimated that approximately 8,000 demonstrators attended OnStage Local worldwide Saturday in the following locations:
I was told that there were approximately 800 people who attended the OnStage Local held at the Hartford Convention Center. I attended this event with two of my downlines (Melissa and Nikki), Melissa's downline Kim, and two sidelines (Karen and Mary Beth). We had so much fun together.
The morning was filled with the unveiling of the new 2018-2019 Annual Idea Book & Catalog and I know you're as excited as I was to see it, so without further adieu, here it is:
It's pretty, right!? It's so crisp and clean and I love the rainbow of colors! It just makes you happy!
I'm not gonna lie, I didn't hear a lot of the morning's presentation after getting that catalog in my hands! Well, we actually didn't hear MOST of the entire conference presentations because of terrible audio in the conference center, but that's a whole other story. . .
One of the biggest changes in the new catalog was a color revamp and NEW INK PADS! These new ink pads were engineered to be easier to open and close and resemble that of a compact case. Here's a look:
Why did they change the case?
The case’s manufacturing mold was about to expire. They can only use a mold a limited number of times before they need to replace it, so they had to decide if they wanted to order more of the same molds or try to improve the design. They chose to improve it!
What’s better about the case?
Using research, focus group feedback and comments, they discovered a few things that could improve the design of the Classic Stampin’ Pad case.
They wanted the new case to:
How is the ink different?
They improved their ink formula because they noticed that their old ink would sometimes bubble, especially on new pads and with lighter colors. When this happened, the ink wasn’t as even and smooth when stamped as they’d like to see it.
The improved ink formula will:
How do I know if my Classic Ink Refill has the new and improved ink?
Beginning with the 2018–2019 Annual Catalog, all ink refills will have the improved ink formula. Also, if you received an ink refill and it has the new branding label, it contains the improved ink formula.
Can I use an old ink refill on a new ink pad or a new ink refill on an old ink pad?
Yes! You absolutely can with the exception of the Basic Gray Archival and Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ inks. Archival and Classic inks should not be mixed. All other Classic Stampin’ inks will work fine.

One of the very first peeks at the new catalog we received was from the FREE stamp set we received in our registration bags! This new stamp set is called "Animal Outing." Did you also notice the NEW branding on the stamp case?
Here are some card samples designed by fellow Stampin' UP! demonstrators showcasing this fun stamp set:
During lunch and intermissions, we spent time checking out the various display boards in the lobby.
Let's take a closer look at some of the brand new stamp sets you will soon see in the 2018-2019 catalog!
We had a lot of fun playing with many of these new products during the morning and afternoon make-n-take sessions:
WOW! There was SO much information to take in that day and I know it's a lot for you to read through here as well! It was a fun day spent with great friends and simply reaffirmed that I LOVE doing what I do and sharing it with you!
For my local stampers and friends, you will receive your NEW 2018-2019 Catalogs during my New Catalog stamp camp on May 28, 2018. This is an event you don't want to miss! If you aren't local to me, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll be sure to pop a catalog in the mail for you!
One of the biggest announcements made at last weekend's OnStage Local event that I attended (more to come tomorrow) is a color revamp! Stampin’ Up! continuously reviews the top color trends across different markets and industries. In order to keep bringing you the most current and "in" style colors, we decided it was time to give our color collections a makeover. The 2018-2019 Annual Catalog (available June 1) will feature this new color revamp.
It's called a color revamp because it involves a significant number of colors LEAVING and a significant number of new colors being ADDED to the core family colors. And, not only are there going to be new (and returning) colors, Stampin' UP! is introducing a newly designed foam ink pad! They listened to the many concerns about how difficult those ink pads are to open and close, so the newly designed ink pad will have a compact-like flip open and close lid!
Take a look:
Take note of these retiring colors because that means if you want any of these ink pads, cardstocks, refills and/or accessories you need to purchase them NOW!
Here are the new 2018-2020 In-Colors:
Here are the brand NEW colors being added to the core base colors:
We also have 6 previous colors that are returning and joining the core base colors:
Don't worry so much about the NEW colors yet. There is plenty of time for that. Think about the colors that are retiring and if there are colors you want to purchase and grab them NOW before they sell out I promise you, they will! All these products are *while supplies last*!
