I cannot actually confirm that these three items will make you a better stamper, but,
I promise you they will make you a happier stamper. And, in my highly
qualified professional opinion, happier people make better stampers.
Happy Friday, friends!
Do you have SO many cards that you do know what to do with them? Does such a thing even exist?

I don't have a particular problem with purple, but, it has been pointed out to me that, perhaps, I might possibly be prejudiced to the entire purple palette. So, consider today a "purple party." And, by "party", I mean a paltry two cards. I'm just not feeling the purple, so it's kind of a purple pity party.
I hope I have made you purple people proud. Power to the purple!
For as long as I have owned a car, a scarlet red corn poppy has always hung from my rear view mirror. I was seven years old when my grandfather, a WWI vet, passed away from cancer. At his funeral, members of the VFW handed out "buddy poppies" and I remember my own father, grieving his father's death, hung his on the rear view mirror of our baby blue Ford Fairhaven station wagon. The nights following my Grandpa's death, I recall vivid dreams of laying in neverending fields of white poppies, that eventually became red, as though sodden with blood. Despite my young age, these recurring dreams were not terrifying, but somehow comforting. The poppy holds a very personal place in my heart, and, only with the wisdom that comes with age, have I fully understood it's special meaning.
So, if you are out and about stocking up on your BBQ necessities this long holiday weekend and a VFW or American Legion member hands you that "buddy poppy" in exchange for your donation, kindly tip your hat, say "thank you" and shake a hero's hand. Remember that the poppy is a symbol of hope to remember the living, but also, of death, and to honor the fallen.
Look what was waiting for me when I got home last night! Not one, but two, boxes from Stampin' Up! It's like Christmas morning here on Knollwood Drive! "Goody goody gumdrops" was the first thought that ran through my mind! These are the days when there is only ONE thing more important than taking off my heels - getting that box open fast enough. . .
Let's take a peek at what's inside the first (the smaller of the two) boxes:
Hmmm, a box inside another box! That's kinda disappointing! That means more work opening it to get to the guts! The anticipation is just mounting. . .
YOUR NEW CATALOGS! Now that's what I call E-X-C-I-T-I-N-G!
And, the second box held N-E-W goodies from the 2015-2016 catalog! Here is your first sneak peek at some great new 'In Colors" and stamping goodies:
Shown below is a new stamp set called "You've Got This" which is awesome! That patchwork background will really add pops of color to your cards. I made a sample of each new "In Color" using this same stamp set:
You might have noticed there are in fact 5, not 4, new "In Colors." Delightful Dijon is the 5th new "In Color", but I'll be perfectly honest with you, I'm not a yellow person and Delightful Dijon, is well, yellow-y. Or, brown-yellow, kind of like baby poo really. Remember that Summer Starfruit (green-yellow color) a few colors ago? Yuck. Personally, I don't find anything delightful about "Delightful Dijon" so I opted not to purchase ink, paper or ribbon in that one color! But, don't let me stop you!
Below are also some samples shown using the Ronald McDonald charity stamp set. It is fantastic! I love a stamp set that is so versatile. This one will make clouds, cupcakes, ice cream cones and trees - all with one stamp. And, there's even a coordinating punch! Better still, $3.00 from every purchase of this stamp set goes to benefit the Ronald McDonald house! How can you not love that?
I hope you have enjoyed today's sneak peek at what's to come in the new catalog!
Today, I am very excited to share with you my Design Team card for the Paper Craft Crew! Not only is it a super cool, masculine card that is perfect for Father's Day, but, there's also a coordinating gift for those dear ol' Dads and Pops.
I wasn't going to post this card today, but, I'm in need of a pick-me-up and it's only 1:32 pm on a Monday!
So, my new cell phone will only type the letter "G" for some reason. . .
The printer toner blew up in the office. . .
Okay, that was a bit of an overexaggeration, it really wasn't quite that bad! (Thank you random stock photo.)
I couldn't find my "work" fork to eat lunch with. . .
Naturally, it was stored with my pens and highlighters. . .
Then, to top it all off, the fashionably challenged men in my office informed me that I was sporting "Latin King" gang colors. . .
P-E-R-F-E-C-T! I survived maximum toner inhalation, only to flirt with death courtesy of my new Macy's blouse.
Oy Vey! Is it Friday yet?
Thank you so much for all of your kind and thoughtful comments during last week's "Step It Up" $25 Gift Card offer! I really appreciate your words, love and friendships. I put all the names into my favorite mug from Japan:
Swished it around a bit and pulled out the winning name:
Congratulations, Brenda! You win the $25 Visa Gift Card! I will pop it in the mail today for you! Don't spend it all in one place!
During my recent vacation, I had the luxury of being able to read barefoot under a tiki hut in the the Caribbean. Trust me, this tropical beachy scene could even have made "Gone Girl" a thousand times better! While I can't promise you palm trees and mai-tai's when you are able to sit down and read a good book, these are 2 titles I highly recommend. Click "Read More" for their descriptions.
Lately I've been feeling a bit. . . well. . . underwhelmed, I guess. No need for concern, it's just a passing phase I am apparently going through where nothing seems to be "enough." The garden isn't quite weeded enough. My closet doesn't seem quite modern enough. My latest attempts in the kitchen haven't been palatable enough. My cardmaking isn't quite awesome enough. You've been there too, right?
No pressure here, Super Stamp Girl, but it's time to:
Well, first I say, screw the garden, 'cause these fingers ain't touching dirt! The closet can wait. One more day in these yoga pants isn't going to kill anyone. And, as for dinner, hello, isn't that why takeout was invented? So, when I say "step it up", I should clarify that I really mean "step it up" in the craftroom, because after all, I am "Super Stamp Girl" not Super Woman!
As a kick-off to my "Step it Up" phase, I'm offering Y-O-U, my readers a chance to win a
$25 Visa Gift Card
