Hello friends and happy Monday! Sorry about my absence for the better part of the last week, but Mr. SSG and I took a late summer vacation to Maine and I thoroughly enjoyed some time away. My family owns a small cabin on an island in Maine (CLICK HERE for the AirBnB rental) and we vacation there every year. I grew up in central/northern Maine and we long to move back there one day. It is just so peaceful and relaxing. I am very close to my family and the majority of them were within twenty minutes from us in Maine, so there were lots of family dinners and card games, which I love! For me, it was also a welcome break from work, blogging, social media and even cardmaking itself! I fully planned on making some cards (as I always do) while on vacation, but on the one rainy day I sat down, I discovered I was in a very crappy mood and thought everything I created sucked! So, I gave up and spent the next 6 days just doing a simple paint-by-number on canvas.
As hard as it is to have any vacation end, boy do I LOOOOOVE to come home! I love, love, love my own bed and miss snuggling with the kitties (Sadie, Guinness and Pizu). And yes, I feel very refreshed and ready to craft again! I know today's card might be a bit early to start thinking about Christmas, but let me tell ya, the leaves are already starting to change color in Maine,
so winter's a'coming, friends! Today we begin to welcome the upcoming holidays using this new "Alpine Adventure" bundle by Stampin' UP! This new stamp set and coordinating dies are available in the 2018 Holiday Occasions catalog. I have created two cards featuring this new Alpine Adventure bundle and the coordinating Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Real Red cardstock. The first matted layer is a 5 1/4" x 4" sheet of DSP from the new Festive Farmhouse paper. Using the Gina Marie Designs I cut a medium sized rectangle of Real Red cardstock. From the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio, I die cut two layers of snow using Whisper White cardstock. I layered the snowbanks on the Real Red Scalloped Rectangle. The sentiment was stamped in Real Red ink.
The snowshoes were stamped in Early Espresso cardstock on Whisper White cardstock and cut using the coordinating dies from the Alpine Adventure stamp set. Presents were stamped in Real Red and Early Espresso ink and also cut with coordinating dies. The wreath was stamped in Old Olive ink on Old Olive cardstock. Berries were added in Real Red ink. The bow was cut from Real Red cardstock. The presents and snowshoes were added to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals for added dimension.
Here is the second card I created using the Alpine Adventure stamp set and Festive Farmhouse DSP:
I hope you have enjoyed these cards and are happy that I am back to regular posting!
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
