I'm that girl who walks into Home Depot and ooh's and aah's over their beautiful orchids! Sure, everyone else goes for paint and lumber and light switches and cabinetry, but no, not me! I'm there for the orchids! Oh, and maybe their popcorn too! I love orchids for their delicate elegance and exotic magical flowers that appear to float in the air. I'm having so much fun using this beautiful new "Climbing Orchid" bundle, you can see two other examples here and here.
The base of this A2 sized cad is Thick Whisper White cardstock. The first matted layer is Crumb Cake cardstock that has been die cut with a Stitched Scallop Rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. The third layer is the beautiful Rich Razzleberry cardstock that I die cut a large circle in the middle of. I heat embossed the sentiment in Whisper White Stampin' Emboss powder before adhering it to the card base.
Using an old retired Lattice Big die, I cut that from Whisper White cardstock and adhered it behind the circle. On Rich Razzleberry cardstock, I heat embossed the orchids multiple times in Whisper White Stampin' Emboss powder and then layering them using Stampin' Dimensionals. For the pistil (or center) of the orchids, I stamped the buds in Sweet Sugarplum ink on Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and adhered with Glue Dots. For the orchid's leaves, I stamped Pear Pizzazz ink on Pear Pizzazz cardstock and cut them out with my Paper Snips. Lastly, I added small dabs of Clear Wink of Stella to the leaves of the orchids for added sparkle.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
