Last weekend was a very exciting weekend in the Super Stamp Girl household. Ten years after we moved into our house and only 9 1/2 years after I began (what's the polite word for "nagging"?) my husband to "update" our fireplace, I'm proud to say, the dream is alive, my friends! Sure, we would have loved to have resurfaced the entire fireplace in flagstone or slate, but, let's be honest, that is both expensive and very labor intensive.
So, for only $40 and about 8 hours worth of work (his not mine), we went from boring, outdated and dirty-looking brick to pristine, modern, bright white chicness! Take that Pottery Barn.
Check out some of these "before & after" photos below:
Wow, right!? Talk about a B-I-G change! I love, love, love it!
I was so thrilled with the end result. It really brightened up our entire living room and took 20 years off! What does Mr. Super Stamp Girl think? Well, he hasn't really offered an opinion yet. I keep telling it will grow on him. But, I'm sensitive to the fact that he's still in 1970's brick mourning.
What do YOU think?
*P.S.- If you are interested in a DIY make-over of your own fireplace,
we used Behr Stucco/Fireplace/Brick No. 270. $19.99/gal
