With all the excitement and talk of Stampin' Up's! Retirement List, today I want to focus on a gorgeous stamp set that will NOT be retiring. It is called "Birthday Blooms" and was first featured in the 2016 Spring Occasions catalog. The good news is that if you have not purchased this stamp set yet, it is still available, and, will also be carried over in the 2016-2017 Annual Idea Book & Catalog to be released on June 1.
I was hesitant to purchase it at first, because along with thinking, "I need another floral stamp, like I need a hole in my head," I will admit to being very intimidated with how to use it. It seemed to me as though coloring was the only option. Lots of coloring. And, I'm still not in the "I love coloring" phase of my life. But, see this post here when I first used this stamp and embossed it all in white. It came out beautiful! For today's card, I simply stamped the large flower in Memento Black ink on a piece of Mint Macaron Designer Series Paper.
No coloring needed and I think this card is also beautiful.
Here is the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday that inspired the layout for my card:
Now let's take a closer look at this card to see what elements I used (some of which will be retiring):
That's right - that fun Hexagon Punch is retiring!
