Hello friends and happy Sunday to you! I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful weekend! For many of you, this might also be the start of summer vacation, so yay for you! I'm soooo jealous. I do have a bit of a long weekend though, as my mom, sister-in-law and nieces and nephews are all visiting for a few days. Hardly relaxing by any means! Super Stamp Girl is Auntie Crystal until Wednesday.
Today I'm sharing with you my final Design Team card with The Paper Players. When I was asked to be a guest designer, I knew my "gig" was for 6 months - ending in June. Now that June has come and almost gone, new artists will be joining their team and I look forward to seeing their work (oh, and not having a deadline to meet)!
What I have realized in the last four or so years is that Design Team participation is hard work. It requires planning, scheduling, commitments, visiting and commenting on websites and dreaded deadlines - not things you necessarily think about when you are in your craft room, binge-watching Grey's Anatomy and stamping like a madwoman. Somewhere along the way, my hobby became more work and I lost the simple joys it used to bring. So, it is with careful consideration that I have resigned from all Design Teams effective July 1.
What this means for you is nothing. . . You will still see great cards and projects, crafty ideas and more - only I hope they will be even better!! But, more importantly, what this means for me is stress-free card making, perhaps a little more time on my hands, and, getting back to crafting because I WANT to
and not simply because I HAVE to.
I'm already really looking forward to having creative freedom again. I'll be making the cards I want, using the products I want and on my own schedule. My goal is to re-discover the joy of cardmaking and I know I will!
Here is the challenge banner that inspired my card:
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
