Here's a peek at some of the great handmade cards that I received on my birthday last week:
Madison is my 8-year-old niece. Would you believe that she put exactly 36 candles on that cake? It's true, I counted them all. I keep telling the child I'm forever 29, but talk about a harsh dose of reality!
Zoe is Madison's sister and my 4 year-old niece. You just have to smile and take delight in these drawings. I'm not sure if that's Zoe and I, or Mr. Super Stamp Girl and I, but I can assure you, NONE of our ears look quite like that!
Donna is a very dear friend of mine and I loved her bunch of balloons - particularly the silver sparkly ones! Guess what she used to make the tail on those ballons? A small heart placed upside down! Brilliant!
Karen is a fellow sideline, and while I love her cute pansy flower card, I wonder if I ever told her my thoughts on the new color "Baked Brown Sugar?" (Hint: It's one shade away from baby ____). But, I still love that she thought of me!
Laurie is my downline and the dearest of friends. I love MANY things about her card!. I love the coffee cup, I love blue and I love all her layering! But, most of all what I loved about her card were the kind things she wrote inside about me, which she said, echoed all the words you see on the outside. Awwww. . .
Yes, it's true, I get handmade cards from my husband! And yes, you should be so jealous! I've gotten them for quite a few years now, typically on Valentine's Day and on my birthday. I love that he sneaks down into my craft room when I'm gone and gives his best shot at making me a card. It is beyond thoughtful and I'm very appreciative.
Thank you everyone for thinking of me on my special day. I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.
P.S. - If you want to see YOUR card featured next year, my birthday is December 5!
